Resuma didn't start as a business idea. It started as a need — our need.
As a military family, we lived the challenges that come with building a career while serving, supporting, and constantly adapting. Andrea, a military spouse, spent years navigating the uncertainty of new bases, new cities, new employers, and the constant pressure to rebuild her professional identity from scratch.
Ronald, a veteran, had to translate years of military experience into civilian terms that hiring managers could understand. He knew what he could do — but struggled to communicate it in a way that fit the civilian world.
We both felt the same frustration:
Why isn't there a career platform built for us?
For our community?
For our reality?
Not a generic resume builder.
Not a one-size-fits-all job board.
Not another system that misunderstands military experience.
We needed something smarter.
Something human.

Andrea brings years of HR experience and the lived reality of being a military spouse. She understands the emotional and professional challenges our community faces — the relocations, the gaps in employment, the reinvention, the resilience. She is the face of Resuma because she is the heart of our mission.

The Architect of Resuma
Ronald brings the IT, systems, and AI background that powers the platform. He built the Mil2Civ Engine — a proprietary intelligence layer combining O*NET datasets, military occupation datasets, and OpenAI-powered reasoning — allowing Resuma to deeply understand MOS/AFSC codes and civilian job requirements in a way no generic tool can.
